Services

Photography is my primary passion, but together with my husband, Alan Wilson, we offer a range of services:

  • photographic prints and digital images
  • writing and editing (both web and print)
  • design and layout of newsletters, brochures, flyers, booklets, ads, posters etc.
  • slide show production
  • consulting on various aspects of communications, marketing and other project needs

Our professional backgrounds:

Laurie MacBride began her career as a teacher, then changed course to become a founder and for 15+ years the Executive Director of the Georgia Strait Alliance, focusing on environmental issues in the marine waters of southern British Columbia. Now a  freelancer, she continues to edit the group’s quarterly newsletter, Strait Talk, and to undertake other writing, photographic and web projects as needed. Over the past 25 years she has produced a wide range of educational and promotional materials including web content, slide shows, books, magazine articles and more, and her articles and photos have appeared in numerous publications.

Alan Wilson also began his career as a teacher, then became a community educator, writer and editor. Adding graphic design to his toolbox, he was a partner in a small communications company, then for 15 years was Editor/Publisher of WaveLength Magazine (now called Coast and Kayak). Nowadays he still does some design and layout, including Strait Talk, along with occasional freelance writing for publications, illustrated by his and Laurie’s photos.

Best wishes Laurie and Alan! Your creation, and subsequent inspired leadership of GSA and Wavelength, respectively, will never be forgotten. Laurie, your photos of Butedale and Okisollo suggest that you are finding more time to cruise and kayak the coast of Hyas Illahie, as I like to call it (since it is neither very British nor very Columbian). May you always have safe sailing there. Gilakasla /nf
